We also have a Twitter feed - it contains the same information, but we'll keep it up to date if this page is offline for any reason.

We'll be doing some routine maintenance on our email server this coming Friday. During this period customers with mailboxes hosted with us will not be able to access their email.

Inbound mail will be queued and delivered following the outage, and we expect to have everything running again before 11pm. If you have any queries, please contact support.

Our datacenter has advised they will be performing maintenance on their UPS, and that the periods above have an increased risk of a power failure.

We don't expect any downtime, but we'll be monitoring the situation and will provide updates here at and http://twitter.com/labyrinthdata.

Shell clients will experience intermittent outages accessing their email during this time window, as we migrate to a new mail system. The work is expected to be complete well before 1900.

Incoming mail will be queued at our border and delivered following the outage.

Some VPS clients may have experiences intermittent network issues last night, caused by a compromised VPS. This has now been resolved. Please contact support if you're continuing to experience problems accessing your VPS.

We will be performing some maintenance between the times listed to improve our network speed and reliability. Please contact support if you have any queries.

Network issues are currently affecting some clients. An engineer is investigating and we expect to have more information shortly.

Update 1020 GMT+0800: We appear to have an intermittent fault with a central router. We are currently configuring a replacement and expect services should be online by 1120.

Update 1208 GMT+0800: Our ISP has confirmed there are intermittent connectivity issues. This page will be updated as soon as we have an ETA to fix.

Update 1343 GMT+0800: We believe the issue has now been resolved. If you continue to experience difficulties connecting to your VPS, please contact support.

We will be conducting some network maintenance during this period. While we don't expect there to be any downtime, there is a small chance of intermittent connectivity.

Please contact support if you continue to experience problems accessing any service following this period.

March 2009

2009-03-23 2147-2229 GMT+0900

A failure of a fibre loop in our region led to intermittent connectivity to some client VPSes between 2147 and 2229 this evening. Our ISP had an engineer on the issue within several minutes of being notified, and we're now back online.

Please contact support if you continue to experience problems connecting to any service.

Our ISP advises that network connectivity to clients will be interrupted for two 30 minute periods on Saturday and Sunday, between 0800 and 1500 GMT+0900. During these outages, access to all services will be affected.

Update 13:45 2009-03-21: Looks like we're back online after the first outage, which appears to have been between 0830 and 0915.

Network connectivity to some client VPSes will be disrupted for not more than 5 minutes between the times listed, to permit us to perform some essential network maintenance. This page will be updated with more information as it comes to hand.

We are currently experiencing network issues that are affecting some VPS clients. The expected ETA to a resolution is approximately 2 hours. This page will be updated with further information as it becomes available.

Update 22:45 25/03/2009: Our secondary datacentre experienced an unplanned power outage, due to the failure of a UPS. Power has now been restored, and we are currently working to bring servers back up.

Update 00:30 26/03/2009: All services should now be online.

Update 19:56 26/03/2009: A few of our customers have reported problems with their VPS images. We have determined the cause to be a bug in LVM, and are presently working on a fix.

Update 23:32 26/03/2009: A small number of customers were affected today by a software issue that resulted in IO being periodically suspended to particular VPSes on one server. We took the server offline for approximately an hour this evening to resolve the issue, and at this stage we don't believe it will reoccur. We will be monitoring the situation closely over the next 48 hours, and should we encounter any further issues this page will be updated. All services should be back to normal - any customers continuing to experience problems should contact support for assistance.

December 2008

All services experienced a partial outage this morning due to mutiple equipment failure at a network provider upstream of us. Hardware failed at multiple sites, leading to a longer than usual restoration time. As far as we are aware, this outage is unrelated to the power issues experienced yesterday.

We believe services are now fully operational. Any customers continuing to experience difficulty should contact support.

2008-12-02 1200-2100 GMT+0900

A number of VPS customers have been affected by two power failures at our primary datacentre. The first failure occurred at 12pm due to a fault introduced during a routine UPS service, and the second occurred at 6pm following the failure of a generator. Services were restored by approximately 9:20pm following a move to a different datacentre and should now be fully operational.

Other customers will have been affected by the issue described above, but to a lesser extent. There was an outage of all other services for approximately 20 minutes following each power outage. Servers should now be fully operational.

Update 10:34 03/12/2008: Replacement parts have arrived for the faulty UPS, and the datacentre expects to transition to normal operation within the next hour.

All services may be intermittently affected as we conduct some upgrades to our infrastructure over this period. We do not anticipate that services will be unavailable for the entire three hours, but clients should be prepared for intermittent service.

Shell and client web services will be affected as we take down a file server to perform maintenance. We will advise here if this will take longer than expected.

Subversion and DNS services have been intermittently unavailable due to the failure of a primary web server. Services were moved to a secondary server early Tuesday (2007-05-29) and at this point we believe all services are functional, pending the propogation of updated DNS records. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the issue does not reoccur.

Note that VPS and email accounts should not have been affected significantly. Any clients still experiencing problems are advised to contact us on support@labyrinthdata.net.au.

All services were disrupted due to a fibre cut caused by landscaping works being carried out along Hepburn Avenue, Perth, Western Australia. The redundant fibre link employed by our upstream provider did not function and at approximately 5pm network connectivity was moved across to a backup microwave link. Full connectivity was restored by 7pm, and all services are believed to be fully functional at this point in time.

We have been notified that our upstream provider will be performing some upgrades to improve redundancy at their network borders. No downtime is expected, but there is a chance of a brief disruption to all services. We will monitor the situation and update this page as necessary.

International (non-WAIX) connectivity was affected today by an upstream outage. We are working with our upstream provider to determine the cause and provide advance warning of any future outages.

Subversion services were affected by an extended outage today. No other services were affected. We believe the issue has now been resolved and apologise for any inconvenience.

All services will be affected as we take a server down to perform some hardware and software upgrades. We anticipate that services will be back online well before the scheduled time. Updates will be posted to this page as required.

Update 2006-08-29 1213: Start and finish time have been moved back one hour. Downtime will now start at 1400 GMT+0800 and finish at 1700, rather than 1500-1800 as previously indicated.

Update 2006-09-02 1409: There were some issues last night affecting shell home directories and subversion as a result of this upgrade. We believe these issues have now been resolved, but are continuing to monitor the situation.
